Q: When will the fee be taken out of my bank account each month for monthly membership dues?
A: The 15th of the month or the next business day if the 15th falls on a weekend or holiday.
Q: Who can become a member of FRCC?
A: Anyone! Individuals, husband and wife, families, college students, and senior citizens are all membership categories. Minors (under 18) must be registered by an adult.
Q: Are any classes or programs included with the membership?
A: Some classes or programs are included, while others have small fees.
Q: What happens if I forget to bring my membership card or lose it?
A: You must sign in and out at the courtesy desk when you've forgotten your card. Once you have signed in without a card five times we assume the card is lost. When a card is lost we issue you a new card and assess a $10.00 processing fee.
Q: Will you ever get a pool?
A: Additional facilities, like a pool, a track, sport fields, tennis courts, etc, are in long-term planning stages. As the community develops, these facilities will be considered.
Q: Who can use the Fitness Center and why are the doors locked?
A: Fitness Center users (of weight machines and aerobic equipment) must:
- Be 18 years old (or older). Ages 14-17 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Receive an orientation by a staff member on how to use the equipment.
- Receive an access card activated for door entry.
These rules are adopted for safety, security, and liability reasons.
Q: Do I have to be a member to try some of your exercise programs?
A: No. You do not have to be a member to participate in the exercise classes. We offer non-member rates which are higher than the rate that a member would have to pay.
Q: Are there babysitting or child watch services?
A: Yes. Call us at 301-241-5085 for details and fees. Child Watch is open Monday - Saturday 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. and Monday - Thursday 5:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. Keep in mind this is not a daycare service. You must remain in the center while your child is in Child Watch.
Q: Can I submit ideas and suggestions for what I want?
A: A suggestion box is permanently placed in the lobby. The box gets emptied weekly and FRCC Board Members address the suggestions and comments.
Q: Are you open on Sundays?
A: Yes! We recently began Sunday hours: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. We plan to extend Sunday hours during winter months.
Q: Do you close the building or cancel activities for bad weather?
A: The FRCC monitors the inclement weather decision-making of Washington County, MD and other area school systems. If schools are closed or delayed, there's a good chance our hours may be affected also. We post any changes on our website as soon as possible.
The FRCC Hours of Operation, staff-led and registered programming, rental activities, and events are subject to weather conditions as we attempt to honor these commitments and serve you. However, if safety in travel to and from the facility, or safety of the participants and spectators during the activity is threatened, we advise our members and patrons to check the home page of this website for updates or call the FRCC at (301) 241-5085 for weather-related updates.
